This includes the legal process. Adoption laws vary from state to state, and court procedures can vary from county to county within the same state. Add to this the fact that lawyers talk like lawyers, and the entire legal process can seem mysterious and incomprehensible.
As we work together to launch your exciting journey as parents, we will discuss the legal process from start to finish, taking into account the various laws and procedures that may apply to your adoption given the specific facts of your situation. You will know all the steps required to complete your adoption, and will always know where we are in the process and what comes next.
We will ensure that you have met the requirements for completing an adoption in Missouri, and will obtain background and medical information on the expectant parent(s) so that you can make informed decisions about the adoption plan.
We will consult with the attorney for the expectant parent(s) to address any issues that may arise, from providing living expenses to completing the hospital plan to post-adoption contact.
And in as far as it rests with us, we will strive to make the process positive, informed and honoring for the expectant parent(s).
